Moving & Gerbies
I've just moved from a shared house to renting my own little garden flat, still in Bristol, and am now surrounded by boxes and clutter. Not much change there! All went fairly smoothly apart from having a single bedframe delivered by the geniuses at Tesco, which didn't really work with the double mattress they brought at the same time...

In more thrilling news as the letting agency/landlady are okay with pets (to a certain degree) I also now have a pair of gerbils named Fruit Loop and Shreddie! They are currently still pretty freaked out by me whenever I move or talk or look at them or breathe in their vicinity, but they have had a glorious time shredding a large quantity of cardboard and digging tunnels in their tank. Typically they much pefer this to going in the cage topper I constructed, which I expected, but has led to me to have to stick water bottles to the inside of the tank in case they die of deydration by not wanting to use the bottle in the cage topper. Yes I'm an overprotective first time gerbil mother/owner/whatever, shush.

If anyone is nosy or interested, there are some piccies of new flat here and gebils here!

As a bonus teaser, this is an action shot of Shreddie digging her lil' gerbilly heart out:

I am intrigued by the location of your laundry basket (burglar deterrent?) and the fact you seem to have a bread maker in your bedroom for late night snackage. And did you seriously take a photo of your washing?!

I did take a photo of my washing - it seemed very photogenic all flapping in the sunshine! Plus I still think a non-rotary washing line is just so spiffy. I found a bit of wood with a V cut in the end in the shed, so I don't even need to get a new prop for it! *chuffed with hidden mysteries of the shed*

The laundry basket was just resting there, as is the breadmaker. I'm plotting which cupboard to stash it in...

I have now actually seen both gerbils drinking from one of their new velcroed bottles in the tank. Huzzah! If I accidentally kill them it won't be through dehydration! :D

*tries not to kill gerbils by any other ineptitude either*

*giggles* poor gerbils, they don't know what they've let themselves in for...

Aww, doormouse!

(Shreddie and Fruit Loops both just scurried up to the top level. Huzzah! They've also just burried one of their tank water bottles. Gerbils are crazy...)

...is that a Hat Stand I see?! :D

It is! My dad wanted to tie it to his roof bars to transport it from old house to new house, but then he discovered you can unscrew the top and bottom bits and managed to cram it all in the car...

Everyone needs a hatstand.

They do! Mine multitasks as hat stand, frequently worn smart shirt holder, bag holder and place to plonk things off hte floor. Beyond awesome!

I am now longing more than ever to move out though, goddamocles!

Somewhat delayed from your actual post but I applaud your music choice!

I had to wiki (I'm trying a version of that as a verb, much like to google) that to figure out what on earth was going on! It does look quite fun. Lip syncing to Little Respect is something I applaud in general too.

Don't know if you heard but some gits climbed over the wall and nicked several bikes from the car park today, including mine! I've already got a secondhand replacement purchased on the way home (to avoid nasssssty buses) but I am still slightly peeved. Although the offer by the police crime reporting people to be referred to victim support may ease my trauma...

It was *just* before I left - I only knew one had gone though. That sucks :o(

I hope they got them on CCTV or something! *plots revenge involving being cycle-locked to lumps of concrete and chucked in the harbour*
